In the Texans' 34-31 victory over the Tennessee Titans in September, offensive tackle Eric Winston challenged defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch to a fight during the game. Winston thought Vanden Bosch was going for tight end Joel Dreessen's knees. "I felt like they were going after guys after the play, unnecessary contact after the play," Winston said.

The Texans attempted to work Jacoby Jones back into his regular practice regimen Thursday, but they did so with limited success. Although the return man/wide receiver got on the field during the special-teams period to test his strained calf, he was a spectator for the rest of the afternoon. "It's sore, and he's still got some swelling in there," coach Gary Kubiak said.

The Texans allowed embattled starter David Carr to head to tobacco road, where he will likely be a backup for the Carolina Panthers.
